This 100% blend is crafted for those who enjoy a medium-full creamy mouthfeel with low acidity in their coffee. While originally created for espresso, this versatile Kaʻū and Kona blend is also a popular choice for everyday use in filter, pour over and press pot.

As an espresso, it presents a silky crema, low acidity, and a balance between medium and medium-dark roast flavor profiles. No matter how you brew it, Harmony offers delightful notes of butterscotch, cocoa, nutmeg, and dried fruit, with a hint of whisky.

HARMONY COFFEE STORY

A decade ago, Harmony coffee was born as “Road 1 Espresso,” paying tribute to our farm’s location where the blend was crafted.

The blend’s popularity eventually surpassed the small lots from our farm. In 2016, we revamped it to include beautiful coffees from other islands, primarily Maui, and renamed it Harmony. Through 2023, Harmony remained a blend of coffees from the Big Island, Maui, and outer islands.

In August 2023, the tragic Lāhainā Fires devastated a coffee mill, farm, and store that were integral to Harmony and beloved coffees like Maui Mellow, Maui Mana, and Maui Mokka. This operation, known as Maui Grown Coffee, was owned and operated by a long-time colleague and friend. Rebuilding and returning to full production will take many years.

With Maui Grown Coffee’s operations needing years to rebuild and return to full production, we had to adapt. In our commitment to support the recovery, we introduced the Lāhainā Strong Blend, diverting some of our last Maui coffee stocks to it and successfully raising $36,500 for the Maui Strong Fund and the Maui Humane Society.

As a result of these changes, this year’s Harmony has been reformulated. While it continues to embody the same blending principles, we have shifted our focus to hand-harvested Big Island crops, primarily utilizing Kaʻū and Kona coffees as replacements for those from Maui, ensuring the blend retains roast and flavor profiles similar to the original.

In the spirit of resilience and with a deep respect for our coffee heritage, Harmony continues to evolve, embracing both tradition and transformation. Embodying our commitment to quality and the extraordinary coffee culture of Hawai‘i.

Coffee Review Blind Assessment: Evaluated as espresso. Richly chocolaty, gently spice-toned. Dark chocolate, clove, almond butter, pink grapefruit zest, date in aroma and small cup. Creamy-smooth mouthfeel; crisply chocolaty finish with undertones of pink grapefruit zest and clove. In cappuccino format, the perfect drink for baked goods with loads of butter and baking spices.

The Bottom Line: In the straight shot, this all-espresso blend is richly chocolaty and bright, and in cappuccino format, it’s rich-toned and deeply sweet and smooth.
